Page Design Template FAQ

These designs / templates were created using Dreamweaver and Fireworks, but they are not limited to this software. Any text editor can be used to edit the html pages. To date, Photoshop users have had no problems editing the png files.

Though we call them templates, they are not Dreamweaver templates in the true sense of the word (that is dwt files).

You can convert these designs to true dwts in Dreamweaver quite easily by adding editable and non editable regions. If you are unsure of how to achieve this, look at the help notes that accompany your html software.

What is included in the template package?

All packages include html pages, and original png files for easy editing and customisation. Templates use javascript rollover buttons, how on how to to add these behaviours are explained in the help documentation.

What are the advantages to purchasing one of our templates?

Why is validation important?

All templates are HTML and CSS validated.
This means that all markup has been validated and contain no errors. Validation is carried out by the W3C Validator.

Building your pages to web standards, [W3C] will ensure that your website is cross browser, cross platorm compatible, it will be quick loading and will be help with search engine placement.

How are the templates shipped?

The templates are available for immediate download after payment is confirmed. They are supplied in zip format. More information on how to save the files is given in the help documentation that is supplied with every template.

Can I edit the png files?

Most definitely. We supply the original working png files so that you may change any facet of the design to suit your website design. More information on how to change individual elements is explained in the help docs supplied.

Can I modify the navigation bar?

Definitely. We have supplied rollover buttons applied by using Dreamweaver behaviours. Should you wish to add drop down menus, there would be no problems. There are various free tutorials available on how to achieve this.

Can I resell your page designs?

No, our license says in part:

" You may not distribute copies of this TEMPLATE to others. You may not rent, lease, loan, resell for profit, distribute, or otherwise assign or transfer the TEMPLATE, or create derivative works based upon the TEMPLATE or any part thereof."

Use of the Page Design templates is limited to your own personal use or to produce a website for your client.
